PRE-SCHOOL CURRICULUM
During the year our work will cover many themes of interest and we encourage our parents to become involved in these with their child.
Children are encouraged to bring items of interest from home to the school e.g. books, tapes, objects they have found. These items are returned on completion of the theme.
As well as the normal Preschool program we offer the following:
-‘Music for little one’s’ & Recorder lessons - Extra murals for the Grade R pupils: soccer, tennis, mini-hockey, swimming, cricket, Bulletjie Rugby - Regular excursions - Religious Education - Computer awareness for all groups - Expansive premises for free movement - Afterschool care facilities
For our parents convenience we also have private institutions that offer the following at our Pre-School campus: PLAYBALL, BEAUX ART, MONKEYNASTIX, EQ KIDS AND INTRO GOLF — optional at additional cost, between 12h15 and 13h00.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Uniform
There is no uniform at the pre-school. We encourage parents to dress the children in comfortable clothes that enable them to enjoy and participate in all activities during the day.
Food and Beverages
Developing healthy eating habits is an important part of ensuring our children can develop and grow on every level both physically and emotionally. Therefore parents are requested to provide a small snack in a sealed container, but NO SWEETS, SWEET BISCUITS & CRISPS.
Communication
Parent Evenings are held quarterly providing an opportunity for parents to meet the staff and discuss their child’s progress, any general concerns or ideas they would like to share and to get to know the other parents.
To facilitate daily communication the children are issued with a message book. The teacher will send notices or any information parents need to receive and parents can communicate easily any message they might want to send a teacher.
After Care
Aftercare is available at the Preschool daily from MONDAYS to FRIDAYS between 13h15 and 17h00, under the care of a qualified teacher. This facility is not available during school holidays.
