GENERAL INFORMATION
The “Little Saints” Nursery School caters for children from the age of 12 months until 3 years. Parents need to apply to our Pre-School for Grade 00 in the year that they turn 4years old.
RULES:
1. ARRIVAL TIMES: Children are received personally from 07h10-08h00 by either Maria Tom or Jenny Mortlock.
Please Note: Children may not be left at the gate, but must be handed over to the Person on Duty.
Breakfast: Breakfast will be served at 08h15 sharp each day and children arriving late will not be served. Please ensure then that your child eats breakfast at home. Children will not be sent to waiting cars, but must be fetched inside personally by parents.
Please Note: Parents are requested not to be late, as it upsets a young child terribly if all the other children leave and he/she is kept waiting.

2. REFRESHMENTS AND FOOD:
Breakfast will be served as well as Juice. Fresh Fruit will be served at 10h00. Please look on the board weekly for the lunch menu.
3. NOTICE OF ABSENCE:
Parents are kindly requested to phone by 06h30, if a child will be absent. This is very important. If the parents do not phone, a fine of R20 will be charged, as we prepare food according to the amount of children per day.
4. CLOTHING:
Parents are requested to see to it that young children wear clothes in which they can play comfortably and which may be dirtied.
The days ‘work’ includes playing with paint, sand and mud. Smart clothes may prevent a child from taking part in these activities.
Young children are encouraged to be independent and parents must ensure that clothes can easily be put on and removed by the children themselves.
ALL CLOTHES ARE TO BE MARKED, INCLUDING UNDERWEAR, SOCKS, HATS, BOTTLES, ETC.
The Nursery School will not be held responsible for any items being lost, if they are not clearly marked.

. TODDLERS:
During toilet training, ‘accidents’ are likely to occur, and a set of clean clothes should always be available.
PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING EVERY DAY:
Bag marked with child’s name, All clothes to be clearly marked, hat, disposable nappies, wet wipes only. Any special medication must be discussed with the person in charge and indications clearly marked.
6. BABIES:
A daily supply of disposable nappies is to be provided, A Bib, for feeding, Clothes and any Bottles to be clearly marked, Wet Wipes only, Hat, Any special medication must be discussed with the person in charge, and indications clearly marked.
7. BIRTHDAYS’:
A birthday is a great event in any child’s life, and others love to share in it. Mothers may arrange beforehand, to bring refreshments on this day.
8. SCHOOL HOLIDAYS:
“Little Saints” Nursery School will be open during school holidays, but mothers are to please supply their children with a breakfast and a lunch daily.
All rules and times still apply during school holidays.
9. REQUIREMENTS:
At the beginning of each new year parents are to please bring the following items: 1 x Work File, 1 x Work Book, 1 x Pritt An extra R35 will be charged for a Crèche Diary for your child.
During the months of January, April, July and October, all parents are requested to please bring the following items: Box of tissues, 1 Toilet Roll, 1 Bread Spread, 1 Juice water-mix (2 litre)
10. PROBLEMS AND PERSONAL APPOINTMENTS:
Parents are most welcome to discuss any problems.
A personal interview can be arranged so that parents can talk openly to the personnel.
11. ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED (Free of Charge):
Music Appreciation will be offered once a week. Research has shown that music nurtures a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, language and physical development. At St Dominic’s we strive to give every child the opportunity to experience the joy of music.
Music is part of the Pre-School curriculum. Music appreciation classes are presented by Mrs Betty Mostert. The Grade R learners develop instrument-playing skills with the introduction of the recorder, presented by Mrs Le Riche van Jaarsveld.
12. HOURS: (A charge of R20 per half hour or part thereof will be charged for late collections )
Full Day: 07h15 – 16h00/16h30 Half Day: 07h15 – 13h00/13h30
FEES:
Full Day: R880 Half Day: R660
Fees are payable monthly in advance, From January to December. (PAYABLE IN FULL OVER DECEMBER), by no later that the 7th day of the month.
A R100 Application Fee is required on submission of our Enquiry Form.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR ANY ABSENTEES.
ONE MONTH’S WRITTEN NOTICE IS REQUIRED IF A CHILD IS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THE NURSERY SCHOOL.
